What Does This Positive IgG Test For HSV 2 Indicate?
Question: In XXXXXXX 2014 I tested positive for HSV 2 through an IGG test. My score was 14 and noted as high. I was just re-tested (April 2015) and and my IGG score is 23. I note the scores are severely high compared to ranges. is this something to be concerned about? All other STD testing including HIV, Hepatitis, etc tested negative.
In addition I recently had a typical monthly wellness exam and my blood work noted my ABS Lymp to be low at 0.97 k/uL. My Lymphocytes note 18% which is in normal range but again the ABS is low. This is concerning due to implications I am reading about causes and immune function. Again, I tested negative for HIV and all other STD testing and my recent PSA is 1.07.

Brief Answer:
value is not proportionate to the severity of infection
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to HCM
Thanks for posting your query
The value of Ig G of HSV 2 infection is not of much useful, and not proportionate to the severity of the infection. Whether it indicates positive or negative, is important.
If you have frequent recurrences, then you may need a suppressive therapy otherwise treat the lesion then and there.

Is the low ABS LUMPH score due to my body fighting the HSV?
I have concern as the low ABS LYMPH implies I am susceptible to disease including cancer. What should I do related to the low LYMPH scores?

Brief Answer:
Absolute Lymphocyte count below 1200 cells is not good
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome BACK.
Lymphocyte count may vary time to time and due to various infections and organisms invading the body time to time. Absolute Lymphocyte count goes below 1200 cells per cu.mm is not good for health or difficult to combat any infection including HSV 2 infection.
