What Does This Pulmonary Function Test Result Indicate?

I was given the diagnosis that I have very mild asthma.
I have gad and I let the disorder question the results and to let stress mediators continually release inside so that I never am sure.
The last pft was Fvc 112 fev1 98 fef25/75 99 after bronco test rv 103 tlc 112
Since the pft test is a forced test. You are forcing the air out. Can some readings be off. Specifically the portion that tests air trapping like rv. My rv is low. But I give a very hard effort for the entire test. Could my push expell any reserve air or is that particular function to measure rv not a forced air test. I feel as if I have air trapping and wondering what measures the rv. Tlc.
I am an ex smoker. Quit 16 years ago. Three years ago, my 91 year old mother died from copd. I watched her for the entire time she was ill. I worry that I may end up with it. My question is two fold. With the results shown. What do you think and the other is the air trapping question.
I have chatted enough for now. I will let you think of this
You have hyperresponsive small airways.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for posting the query on HCM. After going through your query, I would like to comment the following:
1. Your Pft results are suggestive of small airways hyperresponsiveness which indicates early Asthma.
2. Don't worry about suboptimal effort as it is looked after by the Pft technician and physician. The percentage of fev1 and fvc more or less indicate a good effort. That your Pft has remained consistent over the past 7 years, siginfies that the disease process is not progressing.
3. Residual volume is measured based on mathematical equations and should not bother you unless they are progressively declining.
4. Continue your Asthma and GAD medications.
