Brief Answer:
Simple, normal redness related to hygiene

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXX,

Welcome again to the forum and thanks for adding informations to the query.

Let me reassure you that your condition is totally normal and is not related to any sexually transmitted infections or related things.

You should know the fact that our penile skin is the thinnest skin on the body. It is such a thin skin that even the blood vessels are directly visible over it. There is redness of the blood vessels is many times confused with some kind of skin problems such as red rash or related thing.

Now many times there is mild irritation which is just a hygiene related feature. To explain you medically and scientifically, in all of us males there can be deposition of smegma over the glans penis. Smegma is the normal secretion over glans penis in males.

Along with this there can be retention of urine between two tightly apposed surfaces of glans penis and skin of prepuce. When this area is infrequently and inadequately separated and/or inappropriately bathed, it leads to frictional trauma over the surface of glans penis. Adding to it, the thinnest skin of the body over glans is also sensitive to the friction plus the chemicals in day to day life. All these factors also lead to the kind of problem which you are facing.

Mild to moderate redness and burning and then type of heat boil formation is quite common in this area because of all these feature.

You can continue using the tablet and cream as prescribed and will additionally help you in getting better.

For the additional help you can follow the suggestions below:

- Wash your penile area for two times in a day with plane water. Wash it very gently but properly. It is quite important to retract your skin fully backwards and then wash the area.

- Wear cotton undergarments. Change these two times a day. Do not wear any synthetic or tight garments.

- Avoid intercourse or masturbation for few days. Preferably do not masturbate for few days. When starting again then be gentle and do not be vigorous in the act.

Lastly kindly reassure yourself for this simple problem which can be taken care of by simple methods and is not related to any type of sexually transmitted disease.

Brief Answer:
You can apply mupirocin

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXX,

Welcome again to the forum and further queries.

The antibiotic tablet (amoxycillin+clavulanate potassium) you are taking for pimple like growth in the entrance if my anus is one of the best antibiotics. It will definitely help you out in taking care of mild infection at penile site too.

This tablet sometimes cause mild loose stool or diarrhea like symptoms. Therefore I suggest you to take this tablet after meals and take a lot of curd with the tablet as curd contains lactobacillus bacteria and reduces the possibility of diarrhea. Otherwise you can also take Lactobacillus tablets to reduce the loose stools.

Regarding Mupirocin 2% cream. It is a topical antibiotic cream and can be applied at penile site too. I suggest you to apply it in thinnest possible layer. A rule of thumb is that a pea size amount is sufficient for palm size area. So considering penile site to be just 1/4 of the palm size so according take only 1/4 of pea size amount. Spread it gently so that it should not be visible to the naked eye. Apply it for two times only and do not over apply.

Also I I want to further suggest you to go for proper blood sugar check up. This is important because at your age it is also quite possible in per-diabetics to have such kind of eruptions. SO it is an important thing to be taken care of regularly. In my patients with such kind of problems I generally go for two tests:

- Blood sugar Fasting ( overnight fasting) and Post postprandial (after 2 hours of meal)- tells sugar control overnight and after meals.

- Glycated Hemoglobin (HbA1C)- tells sugar control in last 3 months.

So finally I reassure you that your condition is not related to any Sexually transmitted infection. My suggestion is to be vigilant about your blood sugar level. Maintain the best hygiene and follow the rest of suggestions as in the previous mail.

I hope these information will help you. I will be glad to answer any further of your queries or if not then can close the discussion and rate the answer.
