What Does This Semen Analysis Report Indicate?

default
Posted on Wed, 25 Nov 2015
Question: I feel my semen is quite dilute and watery.
I got my TRUS done and it says: 1. BILATERAL BULKY SEMINAL VESICLES WITH MULTIPLE TINY CYSTS.
2. SMALL CALCIFIC SPECS SEEN IN BOTH DUCTUS DEFERENS.
3 NORMAL PROSTRATE.

I wish to know what does this mean. Is there something to worry. I m getting married 6 months from now.

Brief Answer:
May be infection of Seminal vesicles

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for your query, based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have noticed your semen to be watery and your Trans Rectal Ultrasound Scanning has reveled your Seminal vesicles to be bulky and contains multiple cysts .
This suggests infection of the Seminal Vesicle

The beaded appearance of Vas Difference too suggests infection of Vas difference

Both these findings suggest infection mostly may be Tuberculosis of Seminal Vesicle and Vas difference and need further investigations .

It is likely that your semen is watery due to inadequate quantity of fructose which is secreted by seminal vesicles and sperms making it watery .

Please consult qualified Urologist for clinical and digital rectal examination and get following basic tests done to confirm the diagnosis.
1) Haemogram with ESR.
2) Montox test .
3) MRI of the pelvis.
4) Semen Analysis

Further treatment will depend upon result of these tests and final diagnosis.

Hope I have answered your query ,please feel free to ask if you have more questions ,
I shall be happy to help you
Thanks and Regards.
