What Does This Semen Analysis Report Indicate?

Question: Hello Doctor
I and my wife are looking to conceive a child. We both went for tests, she went for TVS which is normal and she is ovulating properly as well. However when I went for Semen analysis, I got the report as attached. I am a non smoker non alcoholic, please can you advise how bad is the report and what can be done so that the sperm count and other factors can increase to improve chances of conception. My age is 31 years, also please advise if I need to go for any other tests. Thanks

Brief Answer:
Oligoasthenospermia
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I saw your attached semen analysis report.
You are suffering from low sperm count (oligospermia) and asthenospermia ( slow sperm motility).
This oligoasthenospermia leads to low count and motility leading to infertility.
However you repeat this semen analysis from another standard laboratory before presuming this report as normal.
If second report shows same parameters, please follow the advice I am writing below :
1) Wear loose pants and undergarments.
3) Lose weight if you are overweight.
4) Follow strict diet and exercise.
5) Repeat semen analysis after 3 months and see if there is improvement.
Regards

Thank you Dr XXXXXXX I am not obese, slight fat around waistline though , weight of 67Kgs height 5'5.
I had been through tremendous stress for past 3 months as my father was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Do you think stress has any role to play here?
Also , Please can you advise which diet should I follow and what to avoid.
Are there any other tests that I should go for like FH, LSH or Testosterone?
And regarding exercise, should I do light walking or is there any impact of weight lifting on sperms production?
Please advise. Thanks

Brief Answer:
Stress could be a reason
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Stress could be a reason to bring down sperms. Hence it is better to repeat in a different reputed standard laboratory after sometime to check if the count is really so low.
Avoid excess sugar and oil in food.
Brisk walk, jog and moderate weight lifting should help.

Thanks Dr XXXXXXX
I repeated the semen tests and results look different and very positive. Motility is still low though but improved. Is there any ways I can get motility better?
Got ultrasound scrotum done and it says Grade 1 Vericocele. Anything I need to do here.
I also got Testosterone , FSH & LH done. Pls find reports attached. What do you suggest, should I take any hormone supplements, although the values are in range but still on the lower side?
Any other observation from the reports that I you think i need to work on.
Many thanks for your help so far. Am grateful to you. Thanks

Brief Answer:
Follow advice given before
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
You can follow the advice I gave before to improve motility.
As of now the sperm parameters look fine and not that bad. You can conceive naturally with this report.
No more supplements needed.
No need to operate grade 1 varicocele. It's fine. Operating it will not change anything much.
Let me know if you need anymore help.
