Question: Hi my vaginal discharge swab test came out many gram positive bacilli
Puss cell 8-10 epithelial 15-20 the discharge has no fishy smell But has more than the normal.. Would like to know whats the cause of this? Did i get it from having sex ? did is this an std or something? My dr gave
Me an vaginal suppository for this.. But i would like to know whats the cause of this And did i get it from having sex with out cd..

Hello,
Thanks for the query,
You have contracted a bacterial infection in form of vaginitis with pus cells present. You have to be placed on antibiotics for a week. It s not bacterial vaginosis as high bvaginal swab would have cultured pathognomic "clue cells" too confirm that diagnosis.
The infection is most likely contracted through sexual activity from an infected partner or after a masturbation activity with a sex toy which may have not been cleaned properly or sterilized before insertion.
hOWEVER IN EITHER CASE SEX HAS TO BE AVOIDED TILL TREATMENT IS COMPLETE. Please complete the course of antibiotics .
