Brief Answer:
Hi viral load;high chances to get infected...
Detailed Answer:
Hi there,
I have gone through the medical history of your wife carefully and understood your concerns.
1. Yes, her viral load is high. HCV is characterized by high viral load although no clinical symptom is present. I'd like to know about her liver transaminases level reports for further assistance?
2. Before deciding for a possible pregnancy, I highly recommend to consult with both GI and OG specialists. To my opinion, with such lab reports, your wife needs an immediate treatment.
3. If you continue having unprotected sex with her, then, yes, unfortunately, you have high chances to get infected.
All the best and God bless!

Hepatitis C genotype testing...
Detailed Answer:
Hi back,
Thank you for follow up query!
It's great to contact your gastroenterologist on Monday, you can discuss with him/her about planning for a baby.
OG means Obstetric-gynecologist. You need a close collaboration with gastroenterologist and gynecologist at the same time if you are planning for a pregnancy.
Liver panel testing is routinely done, I'm sure they did when they run blood tests to your wife. Anyway, the tests are:
- ALT level
- AST level
- bilirubin (direct and total)
The test for genotyping is called " Hepatitis C genotype testing" .
Hope it helped!

Brief Answer:
Ribavirin and interferon to be started...
Detailed Answer:
Hi back,
Thank you for providing the lab reports.
I have gone through them and noted that liver enzymes and bilirubin were high. As long as the liver was morphologically fine (no fatty liver, no cirrhosis,), then, the cause to her high liver enzymes levels and bilirubin was the chronic hepatitis.
I advise to run the genotype testing and HCV-RNA before starting therapy. It is necessary that she starts drug therapy with anti-virals (e.g. ribavirin and interferon) before thinking over pregnancy.
All the best and God bless!
