What Does This Thyroid Function Test Result Indicate?

Question: Hi I have been given thyronorm 25 mcg my levels are t3 as 128 t4 as 10.5 tsh 2.89 is the medicine prescribed correct.

Welcome to HCM. I have gone through the question and understand your concerns.

Your thyroid function test is normal. But most infertility specialist prefer to keep the TSH below 2.5 miu/ml as the risk of miscarriage is slightly high when TSH is above 2.5. That is the reason why you were started on thyroxine.

You can do additional tests like anti thyroid antibodies and ultrasound thyroid to see if you have to be continuously on thyroid medications. You can repeat the thyroid function after 6 weeks to see the dose of thyroxine is adequate.
