What Does This Thyroid Test Report Indicate?
Suggestive of hypothyroidism.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to health care magic.
I have read your query and reviewed the report.
Your mother's report is showing raised TSH (7.39) with normal T3 and T4 values.
This is likely indicative of hypothyroidism means deficiency of thyroid hormones in blood.
Treatment should be started to her in the form of thyroid hormones (tab.Thyronorm or Eltroxin 50 mcg) after consulting to your family physician as thyroid tablets are prescription based drugs..
In addition,I would like to tell that thyroid tablet (Eltroxin) should be taken on empty stomach to get maximum absorption from the stomach as food might interfere with its absorption.
Ideally it is taken after 2 hours of having meal or before 45 minutes of meal.
Means it is best not to eat anything for at least 1 hour after taking Eltroxin.
Further,I would recommend to repeat thyroid function test after 2 to 3 months initially and adjust dose of thyronorm (Eltroxin) accordingly.
Hope this detailed answer will be helpful.

To take regular medications
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for the quick reply.
Hypothyroidism is chronic manageable disease with continuous treatment with thyroid hormone replacement but it is not a fatal disease.
However, it requires almost life long treatment with thyroid tablets with regular follow-up at your treating physician with titration of dosage as per requirement and thyroid hormone status in blood.
So,it is not completely curable and usually patient requires life long treatment.
But there is nothing to worry much as your mother will be fine with regular thyroid medications.
Hope this answers all your queries.
