Again....had a transvaginal ultrasound revealing a thickened uterine lining bordering on the unacceptable for a post menopausal woman. It was a 5. Obgyn performed pelvic...no problems and the ultrasound revealed no other concerns. I have no discharge. Now she wants to do another vaginal ultrasound and may follow up with a d and c. She has me worried...should I be ?

Detailed Answer:
Hello ma'am,
Sorry for the delay in my response.
In postmenopausal women 5mm is cut off for endometrium thickness.
As you are borderline, so your doctor wants further investigation.
At your age polyp, endometrial carcinoma and endometrial hyperplasia are common causes for increased endometrial thickness.
Are you having vaginal spotting or bleeding or any other symptoms?
Hope to hear from you soon.
Good luck.
Regards
