Question: Hi, I am a male, 58 years old. I have been suffering with scrotal swelling and swelling on the outer skin of the penis for close to 6 months, after an ultrasound was done, the doctor diagnosed B/L Hydrocele and hematoma on the skin of the penis. I was on Banocide forte for 2 months and trypsym BR also, with very limited results. As soon as the medication is stopped, the problem recurs. I am not sexually active for the past two years and am a patient of Chronic myeloid Leukemia for the past 13 years presently taking sprycel. My blood counts are good. Please suggest something.

Brief Answer:
Treatment of hydrocele is surgical.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

I have very carefully gone through the details and understand your concerns. It is very hard to comment without a clinical examination. Banocide is the treatment of filariais. The microfilarial germs, if present, clog the lymphatic vessels and may lead to lympedema. But this is very different from the swelling of hydrocele. Your doctor can examine and comment. However, if ultrasonography indicates hydrocele, I think that you do not need to look further. If you have hydrocele, you need to get it operated upon. No other solution will provide proper resolution.

I do not find any correlation with your having CML.

Let me know if I could help further.
