What Does This Ultrasound Report Indicate?
Question: Hi there, 51 years old, postmenopausal for 4 years, ultrasound showed possible endometrial hyperplasia or endometrial carcinoma (due to multicystic endometrium) .The thickness of the uterine wall was 7mm. One of the cysts was 5 mm. I have a .5 complex cystic lesion on left ovary.
Ok, so this could be cancer, but the question is it possible that it could be ovarian cancer and not uterine?
And, does the presence of the cysts in the uterus make it more likely to be the complex hyperplasia that turns into cancer....I'm not sure if the presence of the cysts makes it more like to be cancer or not. Thank you!!

Brief Answer:
Endometrial cancer needs to be ruled out.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
The presence of endometrial hyperplasia can be due to hormonal imbalance or due to endometrial cancer. It can be confirmed only after endometrial biopsy. The presence of cysts can be due to degeneration. It does not indicate a cancer.
The complex ovarian cyst is too small to be cancerous. Such cysts are usually more than 3 cm in size.
