What Does This Ultrasound Report Of Uterus Indicate?
Question: Hi. I have misses periods. My last period was on 25 th may. I have missed periods by 10 days. My upt test is negative.I did ultrasound scanning. My uterus size is 76*45*38mm.left ovary size is 30*15mm.right ovary is 26*17 mm. ET:13 mm thickened. I am not sure whether I am pregnant or not. Got married two years back. My periods are regular. Sometimes it was late by 5 days.
Brief Answer:
Advise Evaluation.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Welcome to HCM,
I can understand your concerns,
As your ultrasound report tells that ET is 13mm.It means, your womb lining is increasing in thickness which actually shed off around period at that time it is 10-12mm thick. This is due to hormone imbalance.
You should go for testing like progesterone level, thyroid profile, serum prolactin.
Now you can take tablet meprate (prescription drug)for withdrawal bleeding.consult with your gynecologist.
Hope this helps,
Feel free to ask further,
Thanks.

Hello Doctor,
Thank you for the feedback.
I will consult with the gynecologist further tomorrow.
But since i was waiting for 2 years& i didnt had late periods until 10 days like this before. I did thyroid test i January 2015 and it normal. i am very eager to know about my pregnancy.
I am not clear yet whether still i am preganant and whether this ET thickening =13 mm means i might get periods in few more days?
Thank you for the feedback.

Brief Answer:
Blood Beta-HCG testing for confirmation.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Sorry for late response.
Urine pregnancy test becomes positive from next day of missed period. As you have told,it came negative and In ultrasound, usually sac appears at 5weeks.
so chances for pregnancy are less.
If you want to confirm about pregnancy, you should go for Blood Beta-HCG level.value more than 100mu/ml indicates pregnancy or doubling of Beta-HCG level for two consecutive test done 48hours apart.
Consult your gynecologist.
Hope this helps.

Brief Answer:
no need to take thyroxine.
Detailed Answer:
Hello again.
Sorry for late response.
The thyroid levels which you have mentioned are within normal range.
Why did your doctor started thyroxine?
In my opinion, there is no need to take thyroxine.
Also, you do not need to take any special dietary precautions with these thyroid levels.
Do not worry.
Prolactin levels are above normal. Can you please mention your prolactin results (like you have mentioned for thyroid)?
Hope this helps.
Thanks.

Brief Answer:
not significantly raised.
Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXX,
Thanks for the follow-up.
I do not think this raised prolactin is significant.
I would consider it to be almost normal.
Nothing should be done about this.
So, your thyroid and prolactin levels are both normal. You do not need any drugs for this.
As you had your periods, the chances of pregnancy are ruled out.
Hope this helps.
Take care.
