What Does This Urinalysis Indicate?
Question: Hi Doc, I am a Female and my age is 28 years. I was having very high fever for two days, severe shivering, headache and weakness. I consulted a doctor and he prescribed me with Jidox 200. I still insisted and got the tests done. In my urinalysis, it shows 3-5 RBCs, 1-2 Epi cells, occassional pus cells, nitrite positive, albumin(++). So he reconfirmed its infection and asked me to continue with Jidox 200. But now I am having rashes all over my body and also the blood flow have suddenly increased, so I am not sure that there is some problem with my medicines or I got my monthly periods. Please advice if I should continue or discontinue the medication. Please take note that I drink very less water in a water.. not even 1 litre per day. Also I was getting fever at evenings only so i thought it may be malaria and got Widal test done for that as well and Sal typhi Para A(H) came positive but 1 in 40 dillution.

I have read your question and understand your concerns.
Your urine analysis shows equivocal report regarding urine infection and also parathyphoid but still I will insists you to continue same medicines at present.
Rashes over the body and vaginal bleeding suggest you have increased bleeding tendency which can occur in dengue fever.
My advice to you is -
1. Drink plenty of water at least 3 to 4 litre a day.. In any infection drinking plenty of water helps a lot.. So Start it immediately.
2.Go for following reports.
- Dengue IgM,
- Dengue NS1 antigen.
- urine culture report
- CBC.
3. If bleeding continues till evening you should get admitted actually.. You might need IV fluids also.
Take Paracetamol tab when you feel fever.
So, don't ignore my advice and consult your doctor and ask for the advices I have given, till continue same treatment and drink plenty of water. Possibility of dengue fever can't be ruled out at present.
