What Does This Urinalysis Report Indicate?
![default](/r/images/default.png)
I just recently had a urinalysis done and on part of the test it read: Leukocytes - 250. I asked my new doctor if that was something to be concerned about, and she said no, there is nothing to worry about. That was it. I was left a little confused as to why it had an H beside the test results which I believe means that it is High. XXXXXXX
This needs for a urine culture as it can be Urinary tract infection
Detailed Answer:
Hi! Welcome to health care magic!
I have looked into your matter, and let me suggest you next course of action. Presence of leucocytes pus cells in urine in such high number suggest, urinary tract infection in majority of the cases. It can rarely be positive in menstrual sample, I mean sample of urine collected while menstruation but that has got same number of red blood cells as well. It would be best of you could share the image of that report so that I can suggest you better.
Ideal approach is to get a urine sample for culture and sensitivity to isolate the exact organism causing it and its susceptibility pattern. Meanwhile keep taking plenty of water and empirical antibiotic like ciprofloxacin can be started but after sending the sample for culture.
Hope this has answered your query, if you have any more questions, feel free to ask. You can also reach me directly through my profile in future, in case of any more queries. Regards.
