What Does This Urinalysis Report Indicate?
Question: Hi
I have routine test ( well I went to the doctor because I was not feeling well for quite long time, particular feel the loss of strength in my buttocks/upper legs like I am having flu all the time. But i am still doing everything , -, working, kids, school run etc
Blood test was ok ( well Vit D bit low and vit B12, so got something for that) but no other signs
However there were 16 RBC in my urine. After that I had twice urin test second time 15 RBC and third time 27!!! I did tests every two weeks. I had urine cytology , ultrasound and Ct - all came normal. My GP said that is don't need to worry however I still can not settle and was wondering if any othre tests are recomended? Citoscopy? I am 50 yrs old female. Thank you very much

Brief Answer:
Tests reports required first...
Detailed Answer:
Hi my dear,
I understand your concern.
Before running into final conclusion can you please send me your urine test results so I can analyze the changes myself? Or any other test you have?
The presence of RBC in urine is indicating that something is causing bleeding:
- if you were having your periods when got the samples
- stones or sludge
- infection
Abdominal ultrasound is also needed for further evaluation.
Bleeding could be from your genitalia, so transvaginal ultrasound is recommended further.
Looking forward to have the requested tests reports in.

Brief Answer:
Infection of uro-genital tract, following tests advised...
Detailed Answer:
Hi back my dear XXXX,
I am sorry for the late reply due to my XXXXXXX clinical overload.
Thank you for providing the requested reports.
I was going through them and noted the persistent presence of red blood cells in urine. Traces of protein and white blood cells were also found with presence of epithelial cells.
As other tests were OK, all these figures then are indicating possible infection of uro-genital tract. The urine culture confirmed light growth of normal flora and coliform, so infection is confirmed.
Antibiotics are suggested together with urine antiseptic like uva Ursi, cranberry, etc.
Vaginal swab testing and culture advised to rule out/confirm genital infection, if positive, should treat it adequately.
For the moment, start uva Ursi and cranberry supplement, increase water intake, limit salt intake.
Wish fast recovery. Let me know if you have other questions.
