What Does This Urinalysis Report Indicate?
Question: MY WIFE URINE CULTURE REPORT REVEALED "KLEBSIELLA PNEUMONIA"grown (colony Count>10 to the power of 5.
She is sensitive to NETILMICIN, NITROFURANTOIN only.
HER Hb - 8.8, RBC-4.37, WBC-11800, NEUTROPHILS-68, LYMPHOCYTES-22, eOSINOPHILS-02 MONOCYTES-08, PLATELETS-277000
REMAINING ALL INVESTIGATIONS SUCH AS CHEST X-RAY, U/S ABD, BLOOD CULTURE, LFT, LIPID PROFILE, ECG ETC.. WERE NORMAL
TREATMENT GIVEN: INJ.MEROPENEM 1G I.V TID, INJ PAN YOMGLIV BD, PARASAFE, TAB SYSCAN 150MG OD, TAB NIFTRAN 100 MG BD, SYP CITRALKA 2TSP TID, TAB DOXY BD TAB URIVOID OD
with the above treatment she is become week and not properly responding to it. Her fever is getting rise on a regular interval since 4 days... she is having sense of vomiting but not doing so...
pls. advise at an earliest is this bacteria KLEBSIELLA PNEUMONIA is curable and if so. pls advise your quick response shall highly be appreciated. Thanks and regards

Thanks for your query ,based on the facts and reports that you have posted it appears that your wife has severe UTI due to Klebsiella Pneumonia organisms which are resistant to almost all commonly used antibiotics .
In view of the organisms being sensitive to only Netilmycinand Nitrofurantoin I wouls suggest you to give her Injection Netilmycin intravenously once daily along with Niftran (Nitrofurantoin ) twice daily for a week .
Give Pantaprozole and multivitamins intravenously to combat drug induced gastritis.
This will definitely help to eradicate infection .
