What Does This Urine Culture Report Indicate?
Question: hi my wife is 25 weeks pregnant . in recent urine culture report it was came out that she has Pseudomonas
aeruginosa present in her urine . 10x3 is the count . she doesn't have any symptoms such as itching buring etc . do we really need to worry about ? our doctor told us not to worry about it and retest after 2 weeks . but as we Google presence of that bacteria can cause serious complications . please let me wether we should take antibiotics or shall we wait for 2 weeks ??

hi thanks for your reply . if I give sample again for urine culture it may take 48 hrs for the result to come . in that time this infection won't cause any problem to our baby rt ?? as the count is 1000. I hope it wont cause any problem . will the infection goes off if she drinks lots of water and juices ??

HELLO user,She should drink as much fluids as possible like fruit juice,soup,lemon juice ,coconut water etc..Repeat the sample from a standard lab. like metropolis if you have in your place.If infection would be present,she at least would have developed some symptoms like fever,burning micturation etc.Do not worry for the mother and baby.Thanks.You can ask if any further query.
