Brief Answer:
Take antibiotics

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query; read the medical and medication history.

With the reports provided by you I would advise you to continue the medicines as guided by the culture and sensitivity reports. Do not give gaps like this of 9 days or so.

Was it sensitive to Amikacin?
After the antibiotic further reports of culture can come negative. You have undergone surgery 6 weeks back and still has 20 - 25 pus cells in urine. This indicated that there is still an infection in the urinary tract.
I hope you have already undergone investigations like
Blood- CBC for WBC, sugar , urea and creatinine
Ultrasonography of abdomen
Repeat tests are needed.
Urine by anerobic culture and tests for tuberculosis will help to simplify the problem. If required either the CT scan or the IVP- intraveous pyelography will further.

Take plenty of oral fluids.Continue antibiotics.

Post laser TURP, had taken one full course of antibiotics. Thereafter, due to UTI had been prescribed one more course of antibiotics based on urine culture report (15th July) as informed earlier . After this, My urine analysis report (4th Aug) showed pus cells as 20-25/hpf. Later urine culture (8th Aug) showed 'no growth' and colony count as 'nil'. Today's urine analysis report shows pus cells as 4-5/hpf. My blood sugar is under control (fbs 120 and ppbs 160). Taking galvus met 50/500 daily one tablet in the morning.

Is it advisable to take Amikacin injections as per your above answer. If so, please advise dosage/numbers/duration and other details of medication. My urine culture report (15th July) had shown Amicacin as sensitive (<=2). Kindly advise.

Brief Answer:
Take one more course of antibiotic .

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your feedback.
As mentioned earlier, the treatment of the UTI particularly after any procedure on urinary tract may be needed for a long time. And you are a diabetic, so need an extra care.

As today's report is showing 4-5 pus cells, please continue the medicines you are advised. Since the pus cells are reduced there is no need to take Amikacin and does not show much sensitivity. The already mentioned the negative culture sensitive report is not a guarantee that infection is not there. Urinary tract particularly takes more time for control of infection. IT is better to take another course of an antibiotic. I can understand your position, might have got bored with so many medicines.

Check the blood sugar regularly, consult your Physician to ask for modulation of the dosage if He/ She feels so.

All the best.
