Posted on Wed, 18 May 2016
Question: I have had an ultrasound scan report attached does this show I ovulate and does it show if I will have any problems conceiving naturally?
I have since had another scan and the cyst has resolved. Do you see this is why they say contact a Gynaecologist incase cyst didnt go away or are there other concerns?

Brief Answer:
Nothing to worry

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I understand your concerns about cyst.

There is nothing to worry as reports seem to be fine. Cyst appears to be corpus luteum. This is seen after ovulation.

Ultrasound doctor may have adviced you to see gynecologist to discuss about cyst.

I know its not your speciality but dont know if you can help. If you suddenly stop taking propranolol after many many years like 10 years plus can it cause leg weakness? Doctor just stopped them but another doctor who first put my dad on them said never let anyone just stop them. My dad now has gone from a normal walking person to using a zimmer frame and falling its only since tablet was stopped. I am wondering if it is connected

Dad has been like this for 4 weeks he wont go to hospital but will get him with GP tomorrow
If these tablets are restarted can effects of legs be reversed
We check his blood pressure and it is good at 144/73

Dad had severe headaches

Here is dads problem:
My Dad has weakness in one leg and when he tries to stand unaided he falls. He has literally gone overnight from a normal walking person to using a zimmer frame and aides by one person to walk. Bood tests CT scan have all been reported as normal. He has had a hospital stay with many tests and all tests are normal. Any ideas please my dad is only 68 and I hope he can get his mobility back and drive again. The falls worry me as he keeps hurting himself. He saya his leg aches its only his left leg feels weak examination shows power 4/5. He can sit and move leg on his own his thigh is tender like muscular ands says his knee feel like it gives way but not sure if it is his knee or leg he cant pinpoint it. Knee xray shows mild osteoarthritis nil else and doppler scan is entirely normal. Physio is not helping. Please please help I just want my dad back what else can I do? Stroke has been ruled out

My dad for many years has been on Propranolol he was on them for 10 years plus. GP just took him off them as dad was having blood.pressure problems. Do you think this could be the problem and if so if he restarted them would he gain his legs back?
doctor
Answered by Dr. Mahesh Koregol (12 minutes later)
Brief Answer:
Restarting would help only if Blood pressure is high

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

If he has blood pressure issues propranolol should be continued. I believe he should not have should propranolol if he was taking these for high blod pressure issues.

I think he has had stroke ( mild form) as he stopped propranolol. He needs MRI scan of his brain and spine. Please get his blood pressure checked again if it has shot up. His complaints of legs giving away typically point to possibility of stroke. He needs to be seen by a good doctor.
