What Does This Widal Test Report Indicate?
Question: What does TH positive upto 1/120 dilution means in widely test, whereas all other tests like TO,AH and BH are negative
Brief Answer:
Your findings may suggest positive widal test.
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Your findings may suggest positive widal test.It may indicate typhoid fever.
Single titration value of TO or TH > or equal to 1: 80 may indicate positive widal test.
However single titration value is of little clinical importance.
You may need clinical correlation and follow up test.Four fold increase in serial titration is confirmatory of widal test.
You may need antibiotics after evaluation.

Considering that, I am not suffering from any fever. I have been keeping an eye on temperature. The readings is coming below 98 F always for the last more than 5 days.
Should I ignore or continue to keep watch.
The only issue left is internal weakness.
Further, I was treated for Typhoid nearly 20 months back and it was third typhoid in a span of 6 years. In all the three cases, I was on antibiotic.
My doctor says, there is a possibility of such positive results due to history.

Brief Answer:
Widal result may be due to past infection.
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Widal result may be due to past infection. Some times,it may take long time to become normal. You can watch for body temperature. If temperature rises then you can go for repeat widal test, other wise you can ignore the findings.
Generalized weakness may be due to many reasons like anemia, altered lipid etc.
I suggest for routine investigations. This can guide your treatment plan.
