What Does This X-ray Report For Knee Joint Pain Indicate?

pls reffer the attached xray and suggest for same
Acute exacerbation of knee osteoarthritis
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for posting the question.
I have gone through the question and the attached reports in detail.
The bones seem to be very osteoportic and weak. The joint space between the bones is reduced indicating osteoarthritis. This causes abnormal over-loading of the meniscal discs between the bones in the knee joint. This in turn causes severe pain in the knees.
Other possibilities like meniscal tear or any ligamental injuries should be kept in mind.
She should take rest, analgesics like tramadol, paracetamol or muscle relaxants.
Using a knee cap or compression bandage with local hot fomentation and gel application will be helpful.
A local steroid injection will be needed if the pain doesn't get relieved by the above measures.
She should not sit cross legged, squat or climb the stairs.
Start on calcium and vitamin D supplements to strengthen the bones.
I hope the answer was useful.
Feel free to ask me any doubts that you may have.
Thank you.
Kind regards.

Hi XXXXXXX
Although she has much pain,i suggest you not to go for TKR immediately.
Try simple measures first.
If she does not respond, then you can think of TKR.
