What Does Tightness In The Knees Indicate?

default
Posted on Tue, 19 Mar 2019
Question: My right knee (no prior issues)had restricted motion on Monday. I tried to straighten it out by stretching up on my toes. Result was a significant dull pop, after which it felt a little tender without rom issues.

Last night the calf began to swell—today it is very Tight from ankle to knee. Other calf normal.

I am starting to get rom limitation as well as discomfort on back of calf both to the touch and when standing.

Brief Answer:

Possible deep vein thromboses.

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

It may be a deep vein thromboses of the veins in your leg. That can be true especially if you have varicose veins, but not necessarily.

You need to go and do an ultrasound of the veins of your lower extremities in order to confirm that, or do other necessary tests. Do that as soon as possible.

Meanwhile, keep the legs elevated and wear elastic socks.

If worse or not better, I would recommend seeing a local doctor as soon as possible.

Hope I have answered your query.

Take care
