What are the reasons for this? What hormone?
Thanks

The hormone is prostaglandin & reason many
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for your query. I can understand your concerns.
The hormone your doctor is talking about is prostaglandin. It is produced normally in pregnancy but in some cases it is produced in higher amounts than needed.
First relax. It is quite a common condition in pregnancy and treatable.
The reasons for the increase are not known completely yet though research has shown it to be commonly found in women with hypertension, diabetes, kidney disease, or those with family history or previous history of such condition in pregnancy.
But many women who do not have the above listed conditions do also get it.
Aspirin helps in reducing the damage to blood vessels by prostaglandin of you and your baby by acting on your platelets. It is completely safe in pregnancy.
Also once your delivery is over your condition will return back to normal most likely as the hormone level will fall off.
As of now keep getting your blood pressure and hormones checked and do regular sonography with Doppler scans.
There is nothing to worry.
