What Does White Flakes In Urine Mean?

default
Posted on Mon, 10 Aug 2015
Question: Hello,
My age is 33 year. I have done my IUI first time on 14th July, 2015 and then doctor prescribed me below tabs for 15 days.
Tab Ecosprin 75mg (after lunch),
Tab Duphastone 10mg (after breakfast, lunch and dinner),
Tab Susten 200mg (Vaginally before go bed at night),
Tab Metformin 500mg (twice a day as I have pcod also)
Tab Folic acid (Once in a day).

But today (20th July, 2015) there seem to be lots of white little floating things (like small piece of white tissue paper) suspended in my urine. Is this normal? Or Is it related to pregnancy? Please reply.

Brief Answer:
Likely cervical mucoid discharge with urine...explained

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for the query to hcm,
The medication that you are on is perfectly fine and you should be continuing the same for next 4 weeks or till you are reviewed once you miss your menses. The white flakes that you are probably seeing being passed along with urine is likely to be cystitis or bladder infection ( if the tissue has been coming out from the bladder ).
There are chances that sometimes white mucoid cervical discharge gets thickened due to progesterone tablets that you are taking and may be passed once you are in toilet and is passed along with the urine.
If there is no discolouration of urine or increased frequency of urine or burning sensation then it is unlikely to be cystitis or urinary infection but rather a mucous discharge from cervix which has been seen to be passed.
Pregnancy can only be suspected or confirmed after 10 days of IUI earliest , with a serum beta hcg test , which if it shows positive result then your present IUI has been successful.

Hello doctor,

I don't have any other symptoms (like discolouration of urine or increased frequency of urine). Also I need to tell you when I check my urine late evening it was normal. There were no any white tissues.

Please tell me if I need to concern my Gynac about this. Is this a major problem?

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
i think you can wait for another 24 hrs , if you see similar white flakes in your urine again then you should get a urine routine microscopy test done ( if you are certain that it is from the urine and not from the vagina which got mixed with urine) and meet your gyn.
