What Does White Milk Like Secretion From Breast Suggest?
Question: Hello Doctor,

I am taking Folic acid tablets daily and medicine for GERD and Flatulence.
I had a medical abortion done in XXXXXXX 2014.
Please let me know the reason for the secretion and whether I need to worry about it.

Brief Answer:
get prolactin levels tested
Detailed Answer:
Hello Mrs. XXXX, thanks for trusting health care magic.
I would like you to press your other breast to see if it is also expressing milky substance.
And in case it doesn't then visit a gynecologist for examination and palpation of the affected breast.
But in case right breast also has secretion then get serum prolactin levels tested.
Also see if you have been given tablet metoclopramide in near past for GERD as it can also cause increased secretion from breasts.
Usually there is nothing to worry but proper evaluation is necessary.
Take care
