What Does Wrinkled Foot When Recovering From Foot Surgery Suggest?
Question: I've been recovering from foot surgery due to an infection that resulted in osteomyelitis and cellulitis. It's been a 4 month process so far. Last night when the bandage was removed in order to change it the bottom of my foot was suddenly very wrinkled. The swelling had recently gone down and I've lost 40 pounds while I was hospitalized for 7 weeks. Would the wrinkling be the result of reduced swelling? My next dr. Appt is in 3 days.

But the reduced swelling should usually cause the foot to return to its normal state, without any wrinkles, so I doubt the wrinkles to be due to reduced swelling (which would mean it would be permanent).

Could you also let me know if the region is dry or wet? Wet may be due to something being applied on it, or may be you got the dressing wet for a while, or your foot was sweating?
From your history, I see that you are still on antibiotics; could you explain why this is exactly? Is it because your wound has not yet completely healed? May be the wound is still open, or oozing, or draining, etc.?
