Question: I have had many recurring yeast infections over the years. Hard to get rid of and recently had one that I wasn’t even aware of. I was give suppositories by my doctor because I am pregnant after s routine vaginal culture. This wash two weeks ago and I assumed it was gone. I recently had lower left side stomach pain and microscopic blood in urine. Doctor sent sample to get culture. The culture didn’t show any any bacteria but showed yeast present. What could this mean. What does yeast in urging mean. I’m pregnant and worried.

Brief Answer:
Nothing to Worry.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
I have gone through your query and understand your health concerns...

Yeast infections during pregnancy are more common than at any other time in a woman’s life, especially during the second trimester of pregnancy.

Yeast infections are often recurrent. Using only a vaginal suppository is often not sufficient to treat the infection completely. The presence of yeast in the urine sample is suggestive of a persistent infection. You need a culture sensitivity testing to find the best antifungal agent for you.

You may need oral antifungal agents after discussing with your gynecologist.

Few lifestyle changes that you can follow are-
Do NOT:
douche
use feminine hygiene sprays
use colored or perfumed toilet paper
Include yogurt in your diet.
Limit sugar intake, as sugar promotes the growth of yeast.
Get plenty of rest to make it easier for your body to fight infections.

I hope this answers your query.

In case you have additional questions or doubts, you can forward them to me, and I shall be glad to help you out.

Wishing you good health.

Regards.
