What Else Should I Do For Coli In The Sinuses Apart From Daily Nasal Rinses And Use Of Fluticasone And Azelastine?
Question: I just had sinus surgery and correction of a diverted septum. In my post op exam for removal of the stents, the doctor informed me that I had coli in my sinuses. Post op I was on anti bionics for a week. I do twice daily nasal rinses and am using Fluticasone and Azelastine twice a day. Is there anything else I should be doing?
Brief Answer:
You are doing the right things
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for posting the query
I feel you are on the right track. Avoid nose picking and frequent rubbing of the nose. Use normotonic saline nasal spray as and when required. This keeps the nasal mucosa moist and prevents crusting.
Drink plenty of warm water, this rejuvenates the nasal mucosa and promotes healing and moisturizing. Avoid sleeping directly in front of the A/C blower or fan.
Hope this answers your query; I’ll be available for the follow-up queries.
