What Else To Do I Was Stung By A Wasp Yesterday In The Back Of My Knee?

Question: I was stung by a wasp yesterday in the back of my knee. The back of my knee was very swollen and red. I took a Benadryl yesterday and several today, but tonight it is more red and more swollen. I have also taken an anti inflammatory as well as used ice packs on the back of my leg. Not sure what else to do. Skin feels very tight, red and very uncomfortable. What should I do?

Brief Answer:
Needs to be looked at by a doctor in person, best to go to an emergency roo

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thank you for your query.

Based on your description, the swelling and redness and tightness are all most likely due to the wasp sting.

Some stings are quite problematic and need prompt review by a doctor in person.

You have done whatever you could possibly do at home, there is nothing much you can do at home.

Best to visit an emergency room and get yourself looked at a doctor without delay.

You might need a steroid shot or anti oedema medicine or splinting to minimise further angiooedema.

I hope you find my answer useful.

Wishing you speedy recovery.

Best regards
