What Exactly Does Sclerotic Changes In The Distal Sacrum Mean?
Question: My most recent ct scan of chest, abdomen and pelvis had this finding in the impression. 1st time ever and this is my 6th annual scan since rectal cancer in 2018.
Sclerotic changes in the distal sacrum and coccyx likely related to previous radiation treatment. Soft tissue density anterior to sacrum currently measures 4 x 1.4cm compared to 3.1x1.3 cm previously and is slightly more prominent.
What exactly does this mean?

Brief Answer:
It is showing an increase of 1 cm in size of soft tissue anterior to sacrum
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for writing in to us.
Hope you are not in much discomfort.
The findings show a previously visaulised soft tissue area in front of sacrum that has likely increased by 1 cm in one axis. It was 3.1 cm and now measuring 4 cm. This needs to be carefully assessed by comparing both images. The soft tissue's nature is unclear from the above details and we need a better description for clarity.
