What Foods Can Help Fight Sulfite Intolerance?
I went to an ENT & an allergist. I tested negative to all food allergies, negative for celiac disease.
I seem to have a problem with food additives, but not sure which ones.
Allergist thought sulfites. Can you offer a list of suggestions of things in food to avoid. The closer to whole foods I get the less problems I have.
Suggestions?
Allergy to sulphites is rare but can be seen.
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your question on Health Care Magic.
I can understand your concern.
Allergy to sulphites is very rare. But it can be seen in allergic people with asthma, allergic rhinitis, allergic bronchitis etc.
Sulphites are used mostly ad preservatives.
So better to check labels before by any preserved food item.
Foods contain sulphites are
1. Pickled foods and vinegar.
2. Dried fruits like apricots, prunes, raisins etc.
3. Tinned coconut milk
4. Beer, wine and cider
5. Vegetable juices, grape juice, bottled lemon juice and lime juice, bottled sauce.
6. Some processed meat products.
So better to see labels before buying such items.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
