Brief Answer:
stomach upset most likely result but should be mild

Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

The dose of advil tabs is usually 200 mg strength.

For children, the dose is recommended based on weight. At 40 pounds, his dose would be typically 150 mg which is only 50mg less than the dose that he may have used.

Because of the small difference, significant side effects are not expected.

The most likely effect to occur would be irritation of his stomach (nausea, burning, indigestion). He may indicate that his stomach feels upset or may just not eat as much as normal.
Because of the minimal difference, symptoms should be mild and resolve in a short period of time. Resting the stomach and using mild foods would help.

if the irritation is significant then he can use children medication for reflux such as pepcid or zantac.

Bleeding is not likely to occur. Dizziness can also occur but this is with higher doses and is likely due to bleeding (which is not likely at this dose)

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
