Brief Answer:
Advanced metastatic CA prostate, needs Palliation
Detailed Answer:
Good day XXXX!
my name is Dr S Khan and i read your concern about the terminal stage also known as stage 4
prostate cancer of your husband. Miss XXXX i am sorry to say but stage 4 is the high grade terminal prostate in which Tumor is fixed and has invaded adjacent structures other than seminal vesicles (eg, bladder neck, external sphincter,
rectum, levator muscles, pelvic wall. And N2 means not only regional but distant
lymph nodes are involved, the place where surgeries and odds for clearing the malignancy with surgeries are impossible. SO now i am afraid conservative therapies and symptomatic care is the only option you have. Miss XXXX i am really sorry for your troubles and i can feel the pain but its the nature and we have to face realities even if they are harsh.
I want you to stay calm and stay in touch with your
oncologist and let him decide what is best for your husband. Alleviating discomfort and treating symptoms is priority. Discuss
androgen suppression,
radiation therapy and
palliative care about your doctors.
To know better about the disease and its outcomes i have provided you some links where you will find some useful information and guidelines and also many people who have this trouble. This is for patient education a necessary part of the plan.
