What Instructions Needs To Be Followed Before Semen Analysis Test?

Question: Hi,I want to go for Semen analysis test for my satisfaction to give birth.I am single and will be getting married in 6-12 months.I have not had sex with anyone so far.

Please tell me all the conditions to be followed before going for this test?Like how many days I should not masturbate before going test?Shall I go for test without masturbating 1 week?Suggest good test lab in XXXXXXX

I can understand your problem. If you want to go for semen analysis follow the following measures to get best results:
1.Do not take any medicine allopathic as well as aurvedic, stop alcohol and smoking, tea coffee cold drinks and any hot beverages for at least one week before the test.
2.keep the abstinence for at least 3-5 days before test. do not wait for more time because after 5 days it decreases the sperm quality and motility result in false results. Too early collection reduces the volume so i will suggest you 5 days are enough.
3. Avoid collection at home. Its better to take the sample in lab only. test should be done within 60 minutes after collection. If you want to collect at home maintain the body temperature during transport. so keep it close to your skin.
avoid ice or cold environment.
4. avoid collection in condom while masturbation, better to ejaculate directly in container. container should be clean and should be taken from the lab only. Note down the time of ejaculation.
5. do not shake the container as it can damage sperm. give it as soon as possible.
avoid stress, anxiety or tension before test. It can change the body hormone levels.
Yes lab selection is very important. So better to go SRL Diagnostic or Dr Lal pathology labs in XXXXXXX

Ok. Now I got few more questions based on this answer. Why we should not have horlicks or green tea before test? Want to understand scientific reason behind this. If that is the case what else we can have as liquid.Can we have badam milk? Can we have lion dates,almonds, fruits etc before test.

thanks for asking scientific reason.
Actually tea contains caffeine which directly decreases sperm production.but small amount doesn't affect much. but better to avoid it.
yes you can take fresh fruits and dry fruits as they are rich in antioxidant and vitamins it will help to improve count.
yes you can have badam milk. horlicks contains some herbal products which are contraindicated before test as they can give some false result by decreasing the sperm production so better to avoid them before test.
