What Is Klebsiella Oxytoca Infection?
Question: I have klebieslla oxytoca. How serious is this?
Brief Answer:
It depends
Detailed Answer:
HI XXXXXXX
Klebsiella oxytoca is a bacteria which can cause serious infection . But just because you have been infected with Klebsiella oxytoca doesn't mean it's a serious condition .
I have treated many infected patients as outpatients . But I have also come across certain patients in ICU who are infected with Klebsiella oxytoca and doing badly inspite of strong antibiotic therapy .
So I need to know what is your condition presently ?
Where is the infection ?
Let me know these and I can tell better about Klebsiella infection.
Looking forward for your reply .
Regards.

Brief Answer:
Not so serious
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for the follow up.
UTI from kleshiella will not cause serious problems if treated properly.
I advise you get urine culture sensitivity test first and then start Bactrim ds . Once culture report comes antibiotics can be changed or continued as per the report.
Any clarifications feel free to ask.
Regards.
