Question: What is this skin flap under tongue? It was a lot smaller this morning.

Brief Answer: Its likely to be due to oral hypertrophy Detailed Answer: Hi Welcome to Healthcare-Magic Greetings of the day Dear Ms From the clinical picture provided by you the flap of skin is likely to be due to hypertrophy and overgrowth of mucosa of floor of the mouth which has occured due to irritation by the back of teeth most likely to be due to chronic smoking. It definitely does not look cancerous. I would suggest you the following for the gentleman 1. Stop smoking if he is smoking 2. Warm Saline Gargling: To a glass of lukewarm water add 2 spoons of common table salt, gargle the mouth with it thrice a day 3. Oral Vitamin B complex supplementation 4.
