What Is Basilar Scarring And Dependent Hyperaeration?
Tells about associated lung condition.
Detailed Answer:
Hi welcome,
This is Dr Sameer, cardiologist.
CT coronary Angio, does not only reveal the condition of arteries of heart, but also take picture of part of lung.
The term hypoaeration means that the area of the lung does not contain the amount of air which it normally should contain within the lung space. This could very well be related to some other underlying disease of the lung.
Basilar scarring correlates to it. It is the collapse or compression of lung.
So this basilar scarring is causing hypoaeration (dependent hypoaeration). You should see your pulmonologist for any treatment, if required.
I hope i answered your query. If you have any more question, I'll be happy to help.
Thanks
Take care
