Brief Answer:
Colitis is inflammation of the Colon

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Colitis is Inflammation of the Colon.
There are many causes like Infection, Medicines like Antibiotics, etc.
The cause of loose stool should be known.
First thing that you have to do is to Replace the lost fluids by Oral Rehydration Solution (ORS).If fluid loss is more, then it has to be replaced by Intravenous fluids.
If infection is suspected, Antibiotic should be given.I prescribe Rifaximine 200mg twice daily to my patients with similar complaints
In my opinion, you should go to Hospital immediately and have Intravenous fluids.
Nothing to worry.
Hope I answered your query. If you have any questions,I will clarify further.
Wish you good health.
Regards
