Brief Answer: Weight at 1 month depends on birth weight Detailed Answer: Namasthe Welcome to Healthcare-Magic Greetings of the day Dear Mr XXXXXXX When baby is born , during the first 10 days of life it looses 10% of body weight. The baby starts putting weight from 12th or 13th day. It puts on an average 30 gramme per day. So the weight of baby depends on the birth weight. Massaging the baby is helpful in toning up the body and muscle. It definitely helps firming the paraspinal and limb muscles. It has little bearing/effect on weight gain. For a baby to gain weight adequately the quantity of feeding should be adequate. Its always advisable to keep the baby exclusively Breast feed till age of 6 months. Feeding should be on demand. Adequate feeds is one of the most important factor in helping baby gain adequate weight. I hope it helped. In case you need any further assistance, will be glad to assist you.
