What Is Indeterminant Periventricular White Matter Disease?

Question: what is indeterminant periventricular white matter disease?
Brief Answer:
It refers to non specific MRI findings.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for posting your query.
Periventricular white matter changes are referred to MRI brain findings, wherein on T2W and FLAIR MRI sequences, one finds white (hyperintense) lesions on both sides of lateral ventricles.
These are non specific findings, and are most commonly seen due to ischemia (lack of blood flow to brain). The underlying risk factors could be high BP and high blood sugars.
I hope it helps. Please get back if you have any more queries.
