Question : What is maximum recommended 24 hr daily dosage of prn Zofran and frequency of PRN Zofran (pt is 61 yo metastatic rectal Ca (to bladder wall, presacrum mass, necrotic tumor mass fills abdomen),CKD stage 3 with ileostomy and bilateral nephrostomy tubes, pt currently on Oxycontin 90 mg q 8 hrs,with BTPD oxycdone 30 mg, Methadone 10mg bid and 20 mg HS); pt no longer receiving chemo/radiation, but no other antiemetic seems to work hospice RN

Hi

The maximum recommended daily dosage of prn zofran is 24 mg which can be given at an 8 hourly interval.

Doses greater than 24 mg may cause cardiac problem including increased risk of QT prolongation which may cause abnormal heart rhythm in electrocardiogram.
