The funnel-like structure that drains the kidney and is in direct connection with the ureter is called the renal pelvis. Mild dilatation of this renal pelvis is called pelviectasis. Proximal right hydroureter- Proximal means the part of attachment to the body(origin) compared with distal , its opposite. Hydroureter means little bulging of the ureter (which) is a pipe like structure which connects kidney to urinary bladder. Usually, both the above terms occur because of an obstruction in the urinary tract system, which may be due to stone, stricture etc. Hope I have answered your query.
