Question: What is syncope and what are some possible causes?
I recently experienced an episode that was described as syncope and was hospitalized for 4 days. I am an endurance athlete having run many marathons. While exercising, and subsequent to taking lisinipril the event occurred. Is there a causal relationship to taking lisinipril and experiencing syncope?

Brief Answer:
Need more information

Detailed Answer:
Dear Sir,

A syncope is sudden and short loss of consciousness.
It can have many causes.
Main causes are cardiac and neurological.
Most frequent cardiac causes are arrhythmias.
Neurological syncope can be seen in different diseases.
There is also a specific type of syncope, which is called vasovagal syncope.
In your specific case I would need some details;
1. Was it the first time
2. What were you doing when it occurred, have you felt something specific before it (palpitations, irregular heart rhythm, dizziness, headache etc)
3. What was the duration
4. Have you had any injuries
5. Were there any witnesses, how they discribe
6. Do you have any diseases
7. Do you have high blood pressure
