What Is The Average Weight For A 4 Month Old Infant?
Question: Hi, my girl baby is 4 months and 23 days old. Her current weight is 5.260 kg and her birth weight was 3.020 kg. I have started feeding cerelac as per my pediatrician advice from 15 days. She will urinate 8 to 10 times and pass stools twice in 24 hrs. I am giving her 1 and half spoon (spoon which is given along with cerelac) of cerelac twice daily ( I am mixing cerelac in milk as she dint liked the taste of cerelac when mixed in water) and she will have 40 to 50ml of cooled boiled water. She is consuming 400ml to 450ml of milk apart from cerelac within 24 hrs. She is very active when she is awake. Please let me know whether her current weight is normal, if no what else I can feed her. Also whether I can put her in an AC room with temp 27 to 28 degree Celsius. Thanks in advance.
Brief Answer:
Weight gain normal.
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.
The birth weight is expected to double by 5 months of age and triple by one year of age. I consider the present weight to be normal. We usually suggest weaning to semisolids from 6 months of age but if your doctor has suggested semisolids from the 4th month, you can go with it. it is ok to dissolve cerelac in milk. It is also ok if you give mil along
You can safely put her on AC with the temperature set at 27° or 28°C.
Let me know if you have any other queries.
