What Is The Best Antibiotic For A Rash On The Upper Right Temple?
Question: What's the best antibiotic for a skin rash (upper right temple) - provided it is not a virus?
I was given cephalexin, 500MG, on Wednesday. Doesn;t appear to be helping. Two capsules
a day. I see a dermatologist in three weeks and am concerned it'll be too late to keep it
from spreading to my eyes and face. The rash does not itch. Is not painful, but it has swelled
a bit. I can still feel the bump. Red of course. Not exuding liquids, yet my skin is typically oily.
Forgot to mention. This appeared as a rough spot on my skin Satruday - and by Monday had grown into a small lump. It's aggressive.

Brief Answer:
Amoxicillin-Clavulanic acid tablet, Mupirocin cream.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
It seems to be a bacterial infection of the skin.
I would recommend you to take antibiotic containing a combination of amoxicillin and Clavulanic acid and apply Mupirocin cream to the affected area.
This should help in resolving it.
These are prescription drugs and you need to see the doctor in person to get them.
Hope I have answered your query.
