What Is The Cause And Remedy Of Pain And Sensation When Sitting For Extended Periods Of Time In Foot?
Question: For the past three weeks or so I have been experiencing lower back pain, primarily on the lower right side over buttocks. The pain started with an intense tight sensation and then progressed to soreness especially when bending down or sitting. The soreness has gotten a bit better but left with strange uncomfortable tight feeling and a bit of soreness when sitting. When sitting for extended periods of time (at work) I get a pins and needle sensation in foot. What is the cause and remedy of this pain?

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Most probably you have nerve root compression. And to confirm that, you need MRI spine done.
Cause of pain could be nerve compression due to disc prolapse, which could be confirmed on MRI.
And if on MRI, this gets confirmed, then you need to take neuritic pain reliever medication like pregabalin or may require surgery, if compression is severe.
Till then you can try the following:
-Use semi-soft mattress
-Avoid lifting heavy weights
- Pain killers like Tab Ibuprofen 200 mg as needed for pain
- Apply warm compresses once or twice a day
- Can also apply warm oils or voveron gel on the area to relieve pain
I Hope Your Query is clear now.
Thank You.

Thanks for reply. About one year ago I had a CT scan for an unrelated issue and they found degenerative changes in my spine. Can this cause a decompression?
