Question: Hello sir am XXXXXXX .. Am suffering from alopecia Areta . Initially it was just a spot on my upper lip then all the hair I lost then on my head . Now I have 4-5 patches on my head .. Plz suggest me

Hi, welcome to HCM,

Alopecia Areata is a autoimmune disease.

I usually suggest the following to my patients:
-As your disease is progressive, oral XXXXXXX pulse therapy may be started: 5 mg Betamethasone tab for two consecutive days in a week to be continued for 3 months.
-Intralesional triamcinolone should be given by expert hand (dermatologist) at the dose of 5 mg/ml, as higher dose and inadequate technique will result in atrophy.
-Halobetasol lotion to be applied twice daily.
-Tab Biotin 10 mg once daily.

Intralesional injection can be repeated after 1 month according to response.

Go for blood sugar level and TSH level as autoimmune diabetes and thyroiditis may be associated with this.

I went to Dr. Safdarjung hospital new XXXXXXX , He gave me triamcinolone acetonide injection ip kanacort

diprovate plus and folica hair tincture.

Follow up: Dr. Shahid Hassan (7 minutes later)

Also now am suffering from hair loss . They have become very thin and when I combing them or bathing getting lot of hair in my hand

It takes time to grow hair in patch of alopecia areata. Some time 3 month or more and repeat injection is also required.
Dont get stressed as it is one of the most important cause of Telogen Effluvium, thinning of hair as your are saying.
