What Is The Cause And Treatment For Bacterial Vaginosis?

Bacterial vaginosis is a common condition.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I had gone through your question and understand your concerns.
In my opinion your wife may suffer from bacterial vaginosis (BV) which is an infection of the vagina caused by bacteria. This is common in women who are sexually active.
Symptoms can include discharge with an unpleasant odor especially fishy-smelling, pain, itching around the outside of the vagina and burning during urination.
Treatment for bacterial vaginosis includes antibiotic medicine. But symptoms can come back after successful antibiotic treatment so even if she was treated for BV she can get it again.
If she has recurring infection i would order a test of the vaginal sample discharge which can show the presence of the bacteria so the doctor will prescribe the second course of antibiotics (even after she has been cured).
Hope I have answered your question. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.

Urinary tract infection.
Detailed Answer:
Yes, you could develop urinary tract infections from sex.
Pain or burning when you urinate and pain or pressure in your lower abdomen are the most common symptoms of urinary tract infection in man. Discharge is not the symptom of urinary tract infection.
In your case the best way would be to make ( both of you):
- the analysis of the urine sample to look for the inflammation and
- urine culture which will show what kind of bacteria is causing your infection.
Without this tests you will still have problems with vaginal/urinary tract infections.
Thank you.
