default
Posted on Mon, 13 Oct 2014
Question: I'm suffering from chest pain/discomfort for the last 13 years. Recently got ECG done which shows normal. Treadmill and doppler done some years back also normal. My LIPID is on bit higher side. I'm taking BP and Thyroid medicine daily. My BP is under control. Sometimes I sweat especially on the forehead and back. I'm very much tensed. doctor's telling it's type of muscular pain. what should I do. I'm totally confused. pls advise accordingly.

Brief Answer:
Unlikely to be muscular

Detailed Answer:
HI

Thanks for reverting back .

First of all your ECG is normal . I personally feel that it is not muscular . As per your description I feel that the pain could be because of either of these 2 reasons .

1. Heart Problem .
2. Nerve compression at your Neck Level .

Since you have said that your previous TMT and doppler were normal I am in favour of the second cause , that is Nerve compression at your Neck Level . This Condition is called Cervical Radiculopathy where nerves which supply neck , shoulder and chest gets compressed between the neck bones and cause pain .

For confirmation you will require a X ray of Cervical spine . But along with that it's better you repeat TMT so that we become very much sure that its not heart related .

Kindly revert back with X ray report .

Any clarifications or Queries feel free to ask.
Happy to help you.
Regards.
